Taurean Sanderlin, Joey Perez, DeEbony Groves and Akilah Dasilva died as a result of the shooting.

Registered voters may cast their ballots for the County Primary and Transit Improvement Program Referendum at 11 Early Voting locations, through Thursday, April 26. All voting locations will be open for the entire Early Voting period, including some evenings and two Saturdays. "Early voting is a convenient option," said Jeff Roberts, Davidson County administrator of elections.

Davidson County residents will be able to cast their votes on the proposed transit plan at 11 different polling locations starting on Wednesday. All of the early voting locations will be open through April 26 and will have extended hours, covering evenings and two Saturdays.

The Cheatham County Veterans Service Office and the Cheatham County Sheriff's Office have teamed up to identify veterans who are incarcerated in an effort to prevent them from owing Veterans Affairs overpaid benefits. Veterans Service Office Director Bob Counter said tracking veterans in the Cheatham County Jail has been "on the long-term radar," and kicked off in February.

Gyros, Greek salads, baklava, hummus and other platters and specialties have drawn customers to Ashland City's recently-opened Gyro Cafe over the past few weeks. The cafe opened March 10 after owners worked for about a year to prepare the space, and co-owner Amgad Endraws said that so far, customers seem to be happy with the outcome.

9 Cheatham store clerks cited for selling alcohol to minors in undercover operation
Clerks at nine stores in Cheatham County received citations for selling alcohol to minors. Cheatham County Sheriff's Office deputies and school resource officers oversaw an undercover operation conducted March 16. According to a Cheatham County Sheriff's Office Facebook post, Friday's was the fourth operation since Sheriff Mike Breedlove took office, and follow-ups and further operations "will continue until all businesses cease selling to underage youth."

The Cheatham County School Board voted unanimously to table a potential $1.4 million purchase of the county-owned Tucker-Empson building in Ashland City until its next meeting in April. Director of Schools Cathy Beck explained that there is a facility located behind the Tucker-Empson building which school district officials previously believed was part of the county-owned property that would be purchased.
