Nashville Public Library (720 Baugh Road, Nas...

Bellevue residents, we highly recommend a trip to the Main Library downtown (615 Church St) to see the Violins of Hope exhibit! The Violins of Hope are a collection of restored instruments played by Jewish musicians during The Holocaust. These instruments have survived concentration camps, pogroms and many long journeys to tell remarkable stories of injustice, suffering, resilience and survival. The Nashville Symphony is bringing the Violins of Hope to Nashville to facilitate a citywide dialogue about music, art, social justice and free expression. How many Nashvillians will vote in transit referendum? It's anyone's guess.
CLOSE Predicting how many people will head to the polls can usually be done with a fair amount of accuracy. But turnout in Nashville's hotly debated transit referendum election has become one big mystery.

  • Bellevue Middle School reviewed by a student

Most teachers are nice. Lots of drama happens. As there are two cirrculations one with all the good kids and another with a bunch of trouble makers. Causing academic growth to go down through the years.

Sylvia Ganier, owner and operator of Green Door Gourmet, will demonstrate seasonal cooking tips and tricks to make farm stand produce shine. This program will focus on the best produce available seasonally and how to prepare it, from staple recipes to a few more gourmet things, too! This program is presented as part of Nashville Reads, a way of bringing the entire city together to read great literature, in an attempt to broaden the literary horizons of the city and open up a forum for discussion. This year's book, The Potlikker Papers, is a people’s history of the modern South, told through its food. Beginning with the pivotal role of cooking and restaurants in the civil rights movement, John T. Edge narrates the South’s journey from a hive of racism to a hotbed of American immigration.

An individual who owns property at 8284 Collins Road has applied to put a 125-foot T-Mobile cell tower on the parcel. State law severely limits local governments’ ability to place conditions on such proposals, but we will have a community meeting this week to discuss this. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Bellevue Family YMCA. I’ll be there, as will representatives of the applicant and an attorney who will have useful information regarding options for addressing concerns. (This property is adjacent to Poplar Creek Estates.)
