Christie Cookie sweetens up 12South with new shop

Christie Cookie opened its doors Monday at 2606 12th Ave. S., filling the void left by Sprinkles Cupcakes when it closed its only Tennessee shop in April.

Christie Cookie was founded 35 years ago as a single storefront in downtown Nashville. Today, the company, which operates its bakery headquarters and a retail shop at 1205 Third Ave. N. in Germantown, employs more than 100 people and produces more than 100 million cookies annually.

    Fans of all cookie-related treats have been eagerly awaiting news about the opening of a new Christie Cookies retail location. In April, the company announced that an offshoot of their Germantown headquarters would take over the 12South location formerly occupied by the Sprinkles cupcake shop.
