    Nashville's best-designed new developments awarded
A trucking warehouse remade into a music-education center and a commercial complex that spawned a new downtown Brentwood core were honored as some of Nashville's best new developments by the Urban Land Institute. Eight winners were chosen by out-of-state judges for the tenth annual "Excellence in Development" awards this week.

Plan Bravo?

...were secretly floating mass transit alongside new convention centers and arenas when I worked at 1100 Broadway. I saw the drawings then. We didn't think those would happen in our lifetimes...

    Plan Bravo?
Okay, I thought the vote would be closer than what we got. I was not expecting a victory for transit, but geez... Once upon a time I was a card-carrying, hyphen-loving non-shill for local business-oriented types. I'm still friendly with that crowd (but more friendly with the free thinkers trying to overthrow the patriarchy...don't tell them!)

Meanwhile, at TailGate Brewery Music Row at 1538 Demonbreun Street:

Craft Brewers Conference Brings Some Amazing Events to Town
It's finally upon us. The much anticipated Craft Beer Conference is descending on Nashville's Music City Center next week April 30 rough May 3, and while it's primarily for the trade instead of consumer-focused, just the fact that thousands of talented brewers will be in town means that there will be tasting events all over the city.

Construction on Rolling Mill Hill's newest development is off and running

The project will have similarities to Eakin's 1201 Demonbreun building near the Gulch, with wide-open floor plans and a mostly glass exterior. Inside, a fitness center, coffee shop, bank branch and full-service restaurant are planned.

    Get On The Train
Dear LGBTQ+ sisters and brothers of the "fiscally conservative, but socially liberal" club: I hear you. It's expensive. Really expensive. Now just go do it. Vote in favor of the transit plan on May 1st. Transit means freedom and opportunity for people like us, and another incentive for LGBTQ+ people to come and stay.

5 delicious ways to carb-load in Nashville
CLOSE Another year, another marathon. Or half-marathon, for some runners. Heck, some people even walk the half. My participation? I carb-load in solidarity. Everyone knows you long-distance runner-warriors need to pile on those carbs for energy. Those of us for whom "marathon" is generally preceded by "Netflix" also need our energy.
