We had a great turnout for the BHN Safety and Crime Awareness presentation on Security Cameras. Thanks to Tim Holman for a lively and informative chat on the different types of cameras and systems available. And thanks to Midtown Hills Police Precinct for use of their Community Room. Much appreciated!

District 17 is about to have a lot of cases coming up in front of the Board of Zoning Appeals, which meets Thursday at 1 p.m. at Howard Office Building (700 2nd Ave S.). You can see the agenda here. The three D17 items on April 5 are as follows:
An appeal for a short-term rental permit at 836 Glen Ave. I've received probably a dozen emails against this permit, and a couple in favor. At this point, I don't like the direction this is headed. I'd say if you feel strongly on this one, try to make the meeting.
An appeal for an owner-occupied short-term rental permit at 18 Claiborne St. I've spoken with the owner and am supporting this request, as she has taken all the necessary steps to turn in her paperwork, including neighbor input/notifications.
A 110-unit development on a city property is underway at 12th and Wedgewood.
