Industry Ink: Play It Again Music, NATD, Belmont At Bonnaroo

The Nashville Association of Talent Directors will feature a speaker session with Chris Kappy, manager for Luke Combs, on June 20, as part of its Breaking Artists series. The event will be held June 20 at the CMA event space (located at 35 Music Sq. E.), beginning at 6 p.m.

    Songwriters, preservationists and local business owners blasted Panattoni Development Co.'s plans to flatten Bobby's Idle Hour Tavern, Rhinestone Wedding Chapel and other local Music Row favorites at a community meeting Tuesday night. A proposed state-of-the-art office building for leading music-industry businesses that would replace them "don't look much better than a parking garage," said longtime local songwriter Chris Gantry.

    A recent proposal from developer Panattoni has some in the Nashville music community concerned. The developer is considering five buildings on 16th Avenue, in the heart of Nashville's Music Row area, with plans to demolish the buildings and replace them with a new office building.

After holing out for double-eagle on the par 5 16th hole and birdieing the famed island green on the 17th hole, last year's U.S. Open champion had a chance to set TPC Sawgrass' course record on the final hole.
