    Here are the nonprofits receiving $2 million in grants from Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee
    The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is awarding more than $2 million in grants to hundreds of nonprofits in the region. The 346 organizations benefiting from the 2017 grant-making process are located in 31 of Middle Tennessee's 40 counties. Most of the grants are being awarded to arts and humanities, human services for children, animal welfare and education organizations.

Art by Renoir, Picasso, O'Keeffe is free at Fisk University on Saturday — and will be gone soon

The Van Vechten Gallery is located at 1000 17th Ave. N., at the corner of Jackson Street and Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard on the historic Fisk University campus. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.

    CLOSE With Fisk University's Alfred Stieglitz Collection of Modern Art headed back to Arkansas next month, I urge you to make time to get a local look at this wonderful art before it's all packed up for the move. Admission to the Carl Van Vechten Gallery is just $10 for adults all the time.
