10 questions with Urban Cookhouse founder Andrea Snyder

1907 Broadway, Nashville

10 questions with Urban Cookhouse founder Andrea Snyder
Urban Cookhouse 1907 Broadway, Nashville www.urbancookhouse.com 615-953-6449 Husband and wife Andrea and David Snyder knew from the moment they decided to create a restaurant concept, they wanted to bank off the informal-yet-invaluable training they received in their mothers' and grandmothers' kitchens. Historic RCA Studio B, 'home of 1,000 hits,' turns 60

Sixty years later, Studio B stands on the corner of Music Square West and Roy Acuff Place. The unassuming building hasn't moved. Nashville changed around it, right down to the street names.

Historic RCA Studio B, 'home of 1,000 hits,' turns 60
CLOSE The RCA Studio B building on the corner of 17th Avenue South and Hawkins Street didn't look particularly flashy when it opened on Oct. 29, 1957. But for two decades, artists like Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Chet Atkins, the Everly Brothers, Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings, Jim Reeves and Hank Snow made unforgettable recordings - songs that would become the soundtrack for countless lives - behind its nondescript walls.

Iconic signs at Nashville's historic Studio A return after nearly 50 years

Studio A, at 30 Music Square West next to the old RCA Studio B, was the brainchild of Music Row luminaries Chet Atkins and Owen Bradley.

Iconic signs at Nashville's historic Studio A return after nearly 50 years
CLOSE Nashville's historic RCA Studio A, saved from redevelopment three years ago, on Saturday completed a restoration to its 1960s heyday with the installment of the building's iconic signs. Crews Saturday mounted replicas of the old RCA Victor Recording Studios signage - which is most distinguished by the image of Nipper, a terrier mix dog that was RCA's old mascot, looking at a Victrola phonograph.

Scrappy NSAI turns 50, keeps fighting for songwriters in D.C.
When most companies and special interest groups head to Washington D.C., they are armed with millions of dollars in campaign donations and expensive lobbyists. When the Nashville Songwriters Association International goes to Washington, its representatives are often armed with a guitar and a song.
