The New Year's Eve show is at 9 p.m. (doors open at 8 p.m.) at Music Valley Event Center, 2416 Music Valley Dr. Tickets are $5, available at door or by calling 615-902-9566. 

It runs at  8 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday at Third Coast Comedy Club, 1310 Clinton St., Suite 121. Tickets are $12, available at www.thirdcoastcomedy.club.

An opening reception will be held 5-8 p.m. Saturday. The show runs through Jan. 27.  David Lusk is at 516 Hagan St.  Its hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.  Admission is free.  

Festivities run 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Belmont University’s Troutt Theater, 2112 Belmont Blvd. Admission is free. Visit nashvilleshakes.org for more information.

President Donald Trump tanks in Tennessee, new poll shows

The Fall 2017 Vanderbilt-Poll Tennessee shows that Trumps approval rating fell from 60 percent in November 2016 to 48 percent a year later. Corker’s approval rating dropped from 60 percent in November 2016 to 47 percent this year.

Former Titans, Vanderbilt greats set for inaugural ‘The Sports Fund Lecture Series’

The program will take place at the Vanderbilt Football Meeting Room at McGugin Center, 2601 Jess Neely Drive. The schedule: 8-8:30 am, bagels and coffee, meet-and-greet; program: 8:30-9:30 am, 9:30-10 am, audience question and answer.

Limited parking for The Sports Fund Lecture Series event will be available at McGugin Center as well as the Vanderbilt parking garage one block away, at the corner of Highland Avenue and 25th Avenue South.
