Museum tells the ongoing story of civil rights
Fifty years after the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis serves to tell not only King's story but the story of America - where the country has been and where it is going. It's a story in progress - a story that America is still writing.

Theater review: NCT's 'Dragons Love Tacos' a treat for whole family
Hungry for a little fun? Nashville Children's Theatre has cooked up a tasty treat, closing its season with the delightful "Dragons Love Tacos." More: Nashville Children's Theatre announces a 'Season of Discovery' NCT Executive Artistic Director Ernie Nolan adapted the piece from Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri's New York Times bestseller, which reminds us that while dragon taco parties can be great fun, serving spicy salsa can have "fiery" consequences.

Updates and Events/Meetings for March 31-April 7

District 17 is about to have a lot of cases coming up in front of the Board of Zoning Appeals, which meets Thursday at 1 p.m. at Howard Office Building (700 2nd Ave S.). You can see the agenda here. The three D17 items on April 5 are as follows:

...for WeHome Day on Saturday, April 14 from 1-4 p.m. at Track One (1211 4th Ave S.). Wedgewood-Houston, Chestnut Hill and Napier neighbors will be getting together with local artists and...

An appeal for a short-term rental permit at 836 Glen Ave. I've received probably a dozen emails against this permit, and a couple in favor. At this point, I don't like the direction this is headed. I'd say if you feel strongly on this one, try to make the meeting.

An appeal to not re-do the sidewalk at 1009 Caldwell Ave. If the applicant pays into the in-lieu-of fund, I'm OK with it.

An appeal for an owner-occupied short-term rental permit at 18 Claiborne St. I've spoken with the owner and am supporting this request, as she has taken all the necessary steps to turn in her paperwork, including neighbor input/notifications.

    Updates and Events/Meetings for March 31-April 7
The holiday weekend has my schedule all messed up, but maybe that's a good thing every now and then. I hope you're enjoying a peaceful, restful weekend with family and friends. I'm enjoying getting caught up on WeHome podcasts in preparation for WeHome Day on Saturday, April 14 from 1-4 p.m.
