Fisk University opens 'World War I and The Great Migration'

The show is up through April 7.  Carl Van Vechten Gallery is at 1000 17th Ave N.  Its hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday.  Admission is free.  

Final performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Lipscomb University’s Shamblin Theatre, 4001 Granny White Pike, Nashville.Tickets are $5-$15 (free for Lipscomb students), available at 615-966-7075.

To escape harsh segregationist laws and inequitable economic opportunity, millions of African-Americans relocated from the rural south to the urban centers of the North, Midwest, and West between 1916-1970.
