The Edgehill Village Neighborhood Association will hold its holiday party from 3 to 5 p.m. at Edgehill UMC (1502 Edgehill Ave).

Sunnyside Neighbors will hold their holiday potluck at 6:30 p.m. Second MBC (1000 Halcyon Ave). Bring a toy for their toy drive!

Holiday theater season cranks up with 'A Christmas Story,' more

The show is up through Nov. 30.  The studio is at 438 Houston St.  #262.  Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and by appointment. Admission is free.  

The show closes Dec. 23.  The gallery is at 516 Hagan St.  Hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 a.m. Tuesday-Friday; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.  Admission is free.

Haynes Galleries exhibit celebrates legacy of Nashville artist Anton Weiss

An additional tribute celebration for Weiss will be held in the Houston Station Hall Gallery inside Houston Station, 434 Houston St. in Nashville, on Dec. 7 at a time TBA.

    Haynes Galleries in Franklin presents "Anton Weiss: Abstraction," a fundraising exhibition that celebrates the legacy of revered Nashville artist Anton Weiss. The exhibition showcases a range of Weiss's vivid abstract expressionist paintings and explores his life and influence. The majority of proceeds from art sales will go toward the continued care of Weiss, who now suffers from Alzheimer's disease.

At Traffic and Parking Commission on Mon., Nov. 13th at 3 p.m. at the Howard Office Building (700 2nd Ave S), I'll be requesting a traffic light at 16th Ave S and Horton Ave, I'm deferring the request for Gale and 12th Ave S while CM Burkley Allen and I schedule a community meeting.

Franklin police searching for suspect in October shooting death

Officers responded at 2 a.m. to 234 Chestnut Lane just off Liberty Pike, after receiving a call from that location that someone had been shot.

May Hosiery Co-Op adds growing Dream Systems LLC to tenant roster

Dream Systems LLC will occupy roughly 5,800 square feet of space at 427 Chestnut St.

With Dream Systems signing up for space, the May Hosiery Co-Op project that involves rehabilitation of six legacy mill buildings and exterior spaces is 41 percent leased. The company will share 427 Chestnut with SouthComm with Tuck Hinton to occupy upper-level space at 510 Houston St.

    CLOSE New population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the Nashville metro statistical area added 36,337 people during the one-year stretch that ended July 1, 2016, meaning the region grew by an average of 100 people a day over those 12 months.
