Nashville Cold Weather Community Response. Metro is opening a cold weather shelter at East Park Community Center, 600 Woodland Street. ​ Hours open: Thursday, 12/7/17 from 7:30 pm to 7 am Friday, 12/8/17. This is an overflow shelter for people who cannot access other shelter space in Nashville.

Due to the cold temperatures, Metro Nashville announced Thursday it was opening an overnight shelter at East Park Community Center, 600 Woodland St., for the next several days.

The National Weather Service in Nashville on Thursday said a dry air mass expected to move through the state likely won't bring enough moisture to produce snow.

    With temperatures expected to plummet well below freezing overnight for the next several days, Metro officials are opening a shelter for those needing relief from the cold. Metro Social Services will open the East Park Community Center shelter overnight Thursday, to offer relief from the icy temperatures.

Ambulances in Burns or in Dickson often respond to those emergencies and then transport the patients to the TriStar Natchez Emergency Room on Highway 46, south of the interstate 172 Interstate ramp.

    The Dickson County Commission recently approved on first vote a price of $675,000 for the construction of a new Dickson County ambulance and volunteer fire station to serve the southeast area of the county. At its Nov. 6 commission works session, an amendment to the county budget was approved.
