Paradise Park just the latest high-profile spot to close in Nashville. Which do you miss the most?

Craig and Marcia Jervis scrapped together enough money to open The Mad Platter in August 1989. The building at the corner of 6th Avenue North and Monroe Street debuted in a pre-"it city" Germantown that was mostly warehouses.

For 40 years Sub Stop served up handmade sandwiches in Nashville, nearly 30 years of those were in the iconic pink building at the corner of 17th Avenue and Broadway.

Paradise Park just the latest high-profile spot to close in Nashville. Which do you miss the most?
News this week that the Paradise Park honky-tonk was closing left some Nashvillians gripping about where they're going to be able to get $6 pitchers on Broadway. We feel you (though, not enough to sign this Change.Org petition): Paradise Park was just the latest popular establishment to make way for a new concept or wrecking ball.

Restaurant review: Geist Bar + Restaurant embraces history, romance

311 Jefferson St., Nashville

Restaurant review: Geist Bar + Restaurant embraces history, romance
Geist Bar + Restaurant: where the spirit of the past is honored and a new chapter in a building's life begins. The 118-year old brick structure on Jefferson Street housed John Geist and Sons, a blacksmith shop that morphed with the times, from horse shoeing to decorative ironwork forging to lawn mower repair, before closing in 2006.

    An Eater's Guide to Nashville
Yes, it's the home of Nashville hot chicken. But with roots set in decades of Southern cooking meshed with the influence of immigrants from the far reaches of the country and world, Nashville is quickly building its repertoire of top-notch restaurants. Country music wasn't born in Nashville.

CLOSE Let me be brutally honest here: I'm really more of an indoor cat. I know I should enjoy nature more than I do, and I will *never* say no to a trip to the beach, but once the mercury goes much past 75, I pretty much start whining.
