Nashville Opera takes on timely issues with 'Susannah'
You might not think that a 63-year-old opera based on a biblical story would have much to say about contemporary social issues. But with its themes of lust, shame, hypocrisy and sexual violence, Carlisle Floyd's "Susannah" feels all too familiar.

Review: Nashville Rep, Lipscomb team up for timely 'Inherit the Wind'
Nashville Repertory Theatre closes its main stage season with a strong collaboration, teaming up with Lipscomb University to present the classic courtroom drama "Inherit the Wind." Inspired by the sensational Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925 - in which a Dayton, Tenn., teacher was tried for teaching evolution - this fictional account pits two legal giants of the era against one another, debating what sadly remains a hot-button issue for many.
