'Paint and sip with power tools' concept coming to The Nations in Nashville

A Nov. 18 grand opening date is set for the storefront at 5104 Centennial Blvd. in The Nations neighborhood. It will be the third statewide under the "paint and sip with power tools" concept, which debuted in Franklin last year and then in Chattanooga last spring.

    West side residents now have two more laid-back neighborhood restaurants and bars to frequent, as 51 North Taproom and The Original Corner Pub both opened their doors within the past week. First out of the gate is 51 North Taproom, the craft beer bar from 12 South Taproom & Grill owners Will Shuff and Jamy Borda.

Nashville MTA announces several changes to city bus routes

• The route has been extended past 51st Avenue and Tennessee Avenue to connect to the Nations neighborhood and Charlotte Pike.

• The weekday bus departing Buena Vista at the bridge at 5:26 p.m. now leaves five minutes earlier at 5:21 p.m., stops at Boyd and Buena View at 5:37 p.m., Moormans Arm and Whites Creek at 5:44 p.m., Whites Creek and North 1st at 5:52 p.m. and arrives at Music City Central at 6:02 p.m.

• This route has minor adjustments to service in the Gulch. At 12th Avenue and Laurel Street, buses will turn left on Laurel Street, right on 11th Avenue South, right on Pine Street and right on 12th Avenue South to the regular route. (See the route schedule for complete details.)

    Nashville MTA announces several changes to city bus routes
    CLOSE The Nashville Metro Transit Authority announced nearly two dozen changes Tuesday to city bus routes - moves that the agency is calling the "first of many" improvements to public transit in Nashville. Changes are recommended in Nashville's nMotion transit plan, adopted last year, which also outlines a $6 billion regional transit system for Middle Tennessee.

Residential construction has moved to the neighborhoods near the Nations. A few blocks west at 227 Oceola Drive, Pichoslap Development has begun work on 10 contemporary townhomes. The residences will have three levels with three bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and two-car garages.

Carbine & Associates launched Kenrow Corner in the Nations in 2015 and is now sold out in its first three phases of townhomes, condominiums and a duplex. Located on the corner of Kentucky Avenue and Morrow Road, the development includes sidewalks, three rain gardens and pervious asphalt.
