Praised by the eminent English conductor Nicholas McGegan for his “strong and impassioned, yet exquisitely sensitive” solo playing, cellist Michael Samis joins violinist Denise Baker and the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra in a free December concert. They perform Johannes Brahms’ final orchestral work, the majestic Double Concerto, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Norton. The program will also include the pastoral Serenade to Music by Ralph Vaughan Williams and the rollicking Danzón No. 2 by Mexican composer Arturo Marquez, providing stunning contrast in this varied and exciting program. Casa de Dios USA, 3030 Dickerson Pike, on December 19 at 7:30 PM. Casa de Dios serves a large Hispanic community with over 2500 members. That concert will also be streamed live to South and Central America. All concerts by the NPO are free and open to the public.
