Sunday night, Metro is running an overflow shelter in the Vaughn Building at the Nashville Fairgrounds (500 Wedgewood Ave.) opening 7:30 p.m. through 10 a.m. Monday.

Prima restaurant to close in the Gulch

The restaurant opened in late 2014 at 700 12th Ave. S. with chef Salvador Avila at the helm. Andy Little of Josephine stepped in this year, replacing Avila, and the restaurant unveiled a new menu and updated dining experience in June.

    CLOSE Prima, the Gulch restaurant that went through a rebirth earlier this year under a new chef, will close in mid-January. Owner Community Hospitality issued the following statement Tuesday evening: After three great years, we are announcing that Saturday, January 13, 2018 will be the last day of service at Prima.

There IS Room At The Inn! We’re so happy to report that Room In The Inn is now sheltering people and their pets on these very cold Nashville nights. We just dropped off pet supplies to make the overnight stays more comfortable. It warms all of our hearts here at Nashville Humane Association that this program is now in place. Thanks to ALL in Nashville who made this Pilot Program possible!

Kona Espresso Bar opens next week in the Gulch

Caffeine lovers will have another spot to get their fix in the Gulch next week when Kona Espresso Bar opens on the ground floor of the 1201 Demonbreun office building.

Kona is the first of several new coffee shop additions to the Gulch. Starbucks replaced Bond Coffee at 602 12th Ave. S., Killebrew Coffee opened at 401 11th Ave. S., and Milk & Honey — a full-service restaurant with a coffee bar — opened at 214 11th Ave. S.
